PWTC is Asia's Best Meeting Centre
KUALA LUMPUR: Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC) has won the Best Destination 2012 Travel Awards for best meeting and conference centre for Asia.
Since its inception in 1985, PWTC has been hosting prestigious international meetings and conferences like the Commonwealth Heads of State, the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) XII Summit, and the first Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) Conference for the region.
With 23,375 sq m, PWTC is the biggest exhibition hall in Malaysia.
Its chief executive officer, Datuk Maxson Abdullah Jaafar, said his challenge was to bring in changes and to manage these changes in terms of its software (human capital) and hardware (equipment).
"With this award, the efforts have borne results," he said in a statement yesterday.
Maxson, who took over the management since December 2009, shared the achievement with all the staff for giving commendable services and memorable experience to its guests.
PWTC is managed by Putrade Property Management Sdn Bhd.
The fifth Travel Award, organised by London-based Business Destinations magazine, is an industry leading magazine for international MICE (meeting, incentive, convention and exhibition) managers and corporate travel managers.
